Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 25%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the construction industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 10% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 7% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 7% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent robotics roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 7% share in Q2 2024, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in construction industry accounted for 32% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were ABB, Jones Lang LaSalle, COWI, Caterpillar, and Nidec. Together they accounted for a combined share of 32% of all robotics-related new jobs in the construction industry.

ABB posted 251 robotics-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Jones Lang LaSalle 154 jobs, COWI 116 jobs, Caterpillar 89 jobs, and Nidec 85 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 52.95% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024

The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the construction industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 52.95% followed by the UK (6.96%) and India (6.64%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 53.14% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
