Nordic community builder has secured a turnkey contract to construct a new dock in Skelleftehamn, Sweden. 

Commissioned by Skellefte氓 Municipality, the contract is worth Skr1,132m ($108.43m), which will be executed in partnership. 

The new dock, covering 7,700m虏, is noted to be a key part of the overarching community development of Skellefte氓 Municipality. 

It will enable the port to receive larger vessels, which is a requirement for the industrial investment underway in both Skellefte氓 and the broader region.

The construction project involves dredging, piling, erosion protection, and concrete work, alongside the provision of additional equipment for the dock.  

Peab region manager J枚rgen Eriksson said: 鈥淭his is a technically advanced marine project where we can use our entire pallet of expertise and contribute to a vital function for Skellefte氓 and the region.

Construction is scheduled to commence this month, with completion anticipated for the end of 2027.  

The project will be officially registered by Peab in the first quarter of 2024. 

Last month, Peab secured another turnkey contract to build a new swimming pool facility in Leknes, Norway.
